You can’t grow positive relationships with other people in negative soil. If you really want to improve the other relationships in your life, start attending to your own garden more. The better you feel about yourself, the better you will interact with other people. The better you feel about yourself, the more patience you will exercise as you wait on the right kind of love to enter your life. If we spent just as much time looking for love on the inside as much as we do looking for it on the outside, we would all be healthier individuals to love. We would argue less and communicate more. We would listen to understand someone else’s perspectives even if we don’t necessarily agree with them eye to eye. We wouldn’t be so fast to cut people out of our lives who only wanted the best for us. Our garden determines how the other relationships in our lives will blossom. If you really want the best for other people, the very first step is giving them the best version of yourself.
